The walls and ceilings are adorned with detailed paintings depicting scenes from the life of Buddha, making it a must-visit spiritual and artistic site.

Polonnaruwa, the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka, is known for its well-planned archaeological ruins. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, it showcases impressive temples, irrigation systems, and remnants of ancient civilizations.
